A ready-made shower floor for sheet vinyl. The falls are cut into the tray at the factory and the Wiper VF clamp drain is already built in and waterproofed.

The Showerlay VF at a glance

An XPS foam board, reinforced with cement-based glue, fibreglass mesh and a waterproof membrane fabric that gives the vinyl a durable surface to bond to.

Every tray is drawn to the same scale, with the falls running from each corner to the built-in drain. The drain runs parallel to the shorter edge, 150 mm in from it. Each size comes 20, 28 or 35 mm thick, with a choice of three grates.

Thickness

Three thicknesses for every size

Each size comes 20, 28 or 35 mm thick, chosen on the product page.

On a timber floor the tray takes the place of the floorboards, so match it to them: standard boards are 20 mm, and thicker boards call for a thicker tray.

Why a tray

What the tray does for you

The falls are made for you

The board is CNC-cut to a 2% fall from each corner to the drain, so nobody has to form falls in a screed.
A surface made for vinyl

The top is reinforced with a waterproof membrane fabric, making it durable enough for vinyl sheets or planks.
The clamp drain is already in

The Wiper VF drain is built in and waterproofed during manufacture, clamping frame and all.
Light but strong

XPS foam is easy to carry and cut, and strong enough for a vinyl floor covering.
Trimmed on site

Cut it down by up to 50 mm on each side to get round pipe boxing or uneven walls. Trim both sides equally to keep the falls.
Insulating

The foam board adds thermal and acoustic insulation to the floor.

Good to know

Underfloor heating and the drain

The tray is compatible with underfloor heating, with one catch: because the foam insulates, heating laid underneath the tray will warm the shower area less. Thin underfloor heating can go on top of the tray instead, within the allowance for materials laid over it.

Every tray comes with your choice of Ponente, Mistral or Sirocco grate. The standard waste trap is the McAlpine HC26-50, with a 1.5 inch outlet that turns a full 360° to line up with the pipework under the floor. The H+M Drop 35, Drop 50 and Snake 360 and the McAlpine Vertical V50 can be chosen instead.
